"Where Did They All Go"?

Throughout most of His earthly ministry, Jesus drew huge crowds and multitudes of people followed Him everywhere.  He was treated as a celebrity, a prophet, a forthcoming king, and a deliverer.

Yet, when He was dying on the cross, only a small handful of family and friends were there.

Why?  What happened?  Where did all the people go?
