“The Christian Church and the Risen Christ”

Text: Luke 24:24

Scripture Reading: Luke 24:13-35

Introduction: During the course of the disciples’ travel, the risen Christ joined them, but they did not recognize him.

 

    I.     Instruction from the scripture.

                - Luke 24:27

- We must understand and apply the scriptures.

- Through reading the Bible, we encounter the living Christ.

II. Intimacy with Christ.

- We must all travel the “Emmaus Road.”

- The presence of Jesus will change the mood.

- We all must end rehearsing the disappointments.

III. Involvement for Christ.

- Christians need to be loved.

- Go beyond ourselves.

- I will break the “blues” cycle.

- My plan of action.
