“Standing Strong because there is a Shield of Faith”

Text: Ephesians 6:16

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:10-20

Introduction: Do we need to be reminded that as Christians we have an enemy in the evil on who is seeking to defeat us in our worship and in our work for our Lord?

 

    I.     All of us are seeking shields!

- Property is a shield of great value.

- We live in a world where cash is needed.

- Insurance serves as a shield against catastrophe.

- Emotional shields..

II. The flaming arrows of Satan..

- We will face the fiery arrow of temptation to do evil.

- We will face the fiery arrow of doubt that leads to

  disappointment and despair.

- We will face the fiery arrow of discouragement.

- We will face the fiery arrows of of personal disappointment

  that will numb us and destroy us .

- We face fiery darts of disease and disability.

- We face the fiery arrow of personal injury.

III. Above all taking the shield of faith.

- Jesus is the perfecter of our faith (Hebrew 12:2)

- We are to “have faith in God” Mark 11:22

- Faith comes by hearing and heading the Word of the Lord

  (Romans 10:17)

 

What have you done with the faith you have? Have faith in God

and in youself and face the future without fear
