“How to Recognize the Will of God Romans 12:1-2”

 

Introduction: Paul shares that once we have become a Christian there are two principles that enable us to walk in the will of God

    I.     We Must Recognize the Call to Worship.

                -  Beseech

                -  Therefore brethren

                -  By the Mercies of God

                 -  Present

                         - Romans 6:11–14

                - Bodies

                 - Holy

                 - Acceptable

                 - Living Sacrifice

    II.     Result in surrender to obedience. (Holiness & Unity)

-  Be not conformed to this world-don’t let the things of this world be your motivation.  Let the Holy Spirit which dwells within you shape you from the inside out. Stop being conformed (passive/middle)

-  Ill. Christmas Present-cookie cutters

-  Warning-do not automatically conform to this

“Christian” age.

Transformed (Divine Passive) by the renewing of your mind Renewing of our mind comes from spending time with the Lord each day.

Ill. Renewing = Renovation-Before & After, EMHD, there should always be construction/renovation/demolition going on in our lives

    III.     We may prove what is the will of God.

- That you may prove what is that good and acceptable and

perfect will of God.

- So our focus should change from seeking the will of God, o seeking God.

 

Matthew 6:33 Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you
