God Is Always On Time
Title: “God is Always on Time”
Text: John 2:4
Scripture Reading: John 2:1-11
Introduction:
What time is it?
- Don’t run ahead of God.
- God’s plan for Moses.
- Exodus 2:14
- Impatient hearts want action…now!
- They fear God’s time will be too late;
- How prone we are to rush ahead,
- When God says, “Wait!”
-
- Don’t drag behind God.
- Greeks were impressed with the value of time.
- One: “time viewed in its extension or succession of moments”
- Two: “‘time charged with opportunity”
- There are opportunities in life of which we must take advantage or lose.
-
- Keep in touch with God.
- Jesus was constant, he had an unbroken fellowship with the Father.
- John 17:1
Remember this key truth:
The most powerful and effective life is the one that has sought God’s will earnestly, prepared itself completely, and waited with patience for the right time to stand forth boldly and do, God’s will whatever the cost!
The Danger:
First: Rushing in quickly before we are ready and before God is ready for us!
Second: Holding back when God is ready for us to act!
