“Being a Disciple Who is Caring” (The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus)

Text: Luke 16:25

Scripture Reading: Luke 16; 19-31

Introduction:  By telling the story of an unsaved man who did not have sympathy, Jesus, conveys to his disciples the importance of being sympathetic and merciful.  

 

        I.   Scene 1 (Luke 16:19-22).       

              -“The Rich Man”

              - “Lazarus, a beggar”

       II.   Scene 2 (Luke 16:23-31).

              - Luke 23:43; Acts 7:56; Revelation 7:9-17

              - “Send Lazarus”

      III.   Scene 3 (Matthew 17:5).

              - How shall we escape?

              - Some people hold to the hope that there will be opportunity for repentance beyond the grave. (Not Biblical)

        IV.   AT THE END 

                  Will you accept salvation or damnation?
